About

Songs that send you back to the Book

Melody helps the mind remember. Lyrical Bible Study writes original songs that trace how the Old and New Testaments connect, then pairs them with studies that open the passages themselves.

Our mission

For generations, the church has sung its theology. Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs carry truth into memory (Colossians 3:16). We want to help believers hear how the prophets and apostles speak in the New Testament's reading of Israel's Scriptures, and then open their Bibles to see it for themselves.

How we handle Scripture

Scripture first

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. Songs and studies here are tools to help you read it: never a replacement for it.

Christ at the center

As Christians, we read the Bible as one story of redemption that finds its fulfillment in Jesus Christ (Luke 24:27, 44).

Careful with connections

We label every link honestly. A direct quotation is not the same as a thematic echo, and we don't overstate what a text says.

Paraphrase, clearly marked

Passage summaries are our paraphrases. We link to full translations so you can read every word in context.

Kinds of connection

Direct quotation
The New Testament quotes the Old Testament text.
Explicit NT interpretation
A New Testament writer or Jesus explicitly applies the Old Testament text.
Typology
An Old Testament person, event or institution foreshadows Christ, as the NT itself indicates.
Thematic echo
Shared imagery or language; a broader parallel, not a citation.
